Global Sports taps Sania Mirza as partner for Dubai Pickleball Open 2025

Indian sports management firm Global Sports has tapped tennis icon and six-time Grand Slam champion Sania Mirza as a partner for the Pickleball Open 2025 to be held in Dubai in May.

Pickleball Open 2025, with prize pool of $50,000, is being organized in collaboration with PickleTurf Pickleball Club Dubai and the Dubai Sports Council on 8–11 May, Global Sports said in a statement.

With a legacy of breaking barriers and inspiring generations, Mirza’s association signifies the sport’s increasing credibility and potential on a larger stage, the statement said, adding that Mirza’s “passion for nurturing talent aligns perfectly with pickleball’s growing momentum.”

“Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports globally. It not only promotes inclusivity and fitness but also creates a strong sense of community, which I believe is essential for the future of sports,” Mirza said.

Global Sports recently held India’s biggest pickleball tournaments, the Indian Open League 2025 and Global Sports Pro and Challenger League – Asia’s largest pickleball tournament in Mumbai.

“Our vision is to create a global pickleball movement by providing world-class tournaments that blend competition, inclusivity, and community engagement. With Sania Mirza joining us, we are confident that Pickleball Open 2025 in Dubai will set a new benchmark for the sport,” Global Sports founder Hemal Jain said.
