Good Glamm unravels as lenders break up brand empire
Once valued at $1.2 billion, the Good Glamm Group is now being dismantled brand by brand, as lenders enforce charges and the founder pledges restitution in the wake of a failed refinancing bid.
The Good Glamm Group, once touted as India’s breakout content-to-commerce unicorn, is being dismantled after lenders enforced charges across its subsidiaries, effectively triggering the breakup of its house-of-brands structure.
On 23 July, founder and CEO Darpan Sanghvi announced that “the lenders have decided to enforce their charge on the individual brands under the Good Glamm Group.” The development places key subsidiaries, including MyGlamm, The Moms Co, St Botanica, Organic Harvest, Sirona, POPxo, ScoopWhoop, and Miss Malini, on the block for individual sale.
The move brings down a unified brand architecture built through a flurry of acquisitions between 2021 and 2023, as the group struggled to refinance its operations and service debt amid a tight funding environment.
In a LinkedIn post, Sanghvi took responsibility for the collapse and said, “I take full accountability for the current state of the Good Glamm Group.”
“I will contribute 25% of my future post-tax salary and equity gains towards clearing all employee dues,” he wrote, and committed to establishing a restitution mechanism: “Within the next 60 days, I will set up a Good Glamm Restitution Fund to repay unpaid dues to employees, vendors, and shareholders.”
Some assets have already changed hands earlier this year.
Sirona was reportedly bought back by its founders, while digital media platform ScoopWhoop was sold at a discounted valuation of ₹18–20 crore.
The disbanding of the Good Glamm Group follows prolonged efforts to secure fresh capital or restructure liabilities, including discussions with Gujarat-based Veloce Fintech.
These talks, however, failed to yield a resolution.
At its peak in 2021, Good Glamm raised funding at a $1.2 billion valuation, positioning itself as a bellwether of content-driven commerce in India.
