Google taps Sashikumar Sreedharan as India cloud head

Google Cloud has tapped Sashikumar Sreedharan to lead its India operations amid growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) and digital services.

Sreedharan succeeds Bikram Singh Bedi, who will now lead strategic initiatives across the Asia Pacific region after heading Google Cloud India for more than four years.

A technology industry veteran with over three decades of experience, Sreedharan joined Google Cloud in September 2023 as Chief Operating Officer for Asia Pacific, based in Bengaluru.

Before joining Google Cloud, he served as Managing Director of Microsoft India and held senior leadership roles at SAP and IBM.

“My time as COO for APAC has deeply affirmed my belief in Google Cloud’s winning strategy and powerful AI-first platform,” Sreedharan said. “I am excited to return to the field and work with our customers to advance their innovation agenda.”

The leadership change comes as India’s cloud market experiences rapid acceleration, driven by surging demand for AI, data analytics, and scalable infrastructure solutions.

Google Cloud has expanded its footprint across sectors, with a client roster that includes HDFC Bank, ICICI Prudential, Flipkart, Meesho, Myntra, Apollo 24/7, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro, as well as public sector entities like the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and the Uttar Pradesh government.
