Quick commerce platform Instamart has scrapped its parent Swiggy’s name from its branding in a move to position itself as an independent brand within the sector.

The decision comes after Zomato’s recent rebranding to Eternal on the stock exchanges, a move that signals the growing importance of quick-commerce beyond food delivery.

Integrated within the main Swiggy app, Instamart launched a standalone app earlier this year.

The platform has now introduced a new logo featuring the Swiggy ‘S-Pin’ symbol, which the company describes as “a subtle tribute to the brand’s origins.”

“This rebrand is not just a visual shift, it’s a declaration: Instamart has grown beyond its origins, while still being backed by the trust of Swiggy. The new identity reflects Instamart as a standalone brand, one that is innovating across speed, selection, and daily convenience,” said Mayur Hola, head of brand at Swiggy.

Previously, Swiggy Group chief executive officer (CEO) Sriharsha Majety has noted at multiple instances that Instamart is expected to surpass food delivery in terms of reach and scale.

Instamart’s rebranding aligns with this vision as the company expands its footprint in the quick-commerce space.

“Instamart’s promise has grown beyond grocery categories, tier 1 cities and food delivery users. It’s become a service with its own voice, its own loyal users, and a role in everyday life that’s both personal and essential,” Hola added.

Swiggy said in a statement, “As Instamart enters this next phase, its refreshed identity reflects the brand’s identity while remaining true to the Swiggy values that make it so loved.”

The updated branding will be implemented across the app, packaging, delivery bags, communications, and marketing campaigns in the coming weeks.
