Based out of Gurugram, Anurag Mehrotra will take over from Rajeev Chaba and drive overall strategic growth initiatives, the automaker said
JSW MG Motor India has named former Ford India managing director (MD) Anurag Mehrotra as its MD.
Based out of Gurugram, Mehrotra will drive overall strategic growth initiatives and strengthen the company’s four brand pillars: diversity, experience, innovation, and community, the company said in a statement
Mehrotra has held key leadership roles across sales, marketing, strategy, and business development at leading national and global automobile companies.
An industry veteran, Mehrotra has a proven track record of delivering strong business results and growing brands locally and globally, the statement added.
Mehrotra, who was earlier vice-president of strategy and global business at Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, will take over from Rajeev Chaba, who will continue to advise management and shareholders as a member of the joint steering committee, the statement said.
“We are grateful to Rajeev for his exceptional leadership in building the MG brand in India. Anurag’s diverse experience, and a deep understanding of domestic and international market dynamics, will be critical in taking this journey to the next level,” Yu De, assistant to SAIC president and head of international operations, SAIC Motor said.
Chaba was “instrumental” in establishing the MG brand in India, the company said, adding that “he has built a resilient, high-performing team that has successfully overcome numerous challenges, driving MG’s rapid growth and solidifying its position in the Indian market.”
“We are at an inflexion point in our NEV (new energy vehicle) journey and are ready to accelerate into a new era with an exciting product pipeline. We are thankful to Rajeev for his invaluable contribution to the brand and delighted to welcome Anurag to JSW MG Motor India,” Parth Jindal, director at JSW MG Motor India, said.
“His deep understanding of the Indian market and his strategic vision for new energy vehicles align perfectly with our focus on sustainable mobility,” Jindal added.
