Khanna assumes additional charge as BPCL chairman

Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd (BPCL) said Sanjay Khanna has assumed additional charge as chairman and managing director of the company.

Khanna currently serves as director of refineries at BPCL.

A chemical engineering graduate from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli, and a Postgraduate in finance management from Mumbai University, Khanna has over three decades of experience in refinery operations and technical services.

Khanna anchored projects to set up new process units in refineries in Mumbai, Kochi, and Numaligarh in Assam, the company said.

Before becoming director for refineries, he headed the Kochi and Mumbai refineries of BPCL.

Khanna also serves as a director on the boards of Bharat Petro Resources Ltd and Ratnagiri Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd.

Additionally, he is also chairperson of ‘The Technical Committee for Petroleum Refineries’ under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG)

Bharat Petroleum is the second-largest marketer in India.

Its refineries in Mumbai, Kochi, and Bina have a combined refining capacity of 35.3 million metric tons annually, with a distribution network comprising 23,500 fuel stations and over 6,200 LPG distribution centers.
