Manish Tiwary quits as Amazon India country manager
Amazon India country manager Manish Tiwary has stepped down to pursue other opportunities, ending his eight-year association with e-commerce company
Manish Tiwary, country manager for Amazon India, has stepped down to pursue other opportunities, the e-commerce company said.
Amit Agarwal, Amazon’s senior vice-president for India and emerging markets who is based out of the US, will work closely with the team after Tiwary leaves.
“Manish’s leadership over the last eight years has been instrumental in delivering for customers and sellers, making Amazon.in the preferred marketplace in India. Manish will continue with Amazon until October to help ensure a smooth transition,” the company said in a statement.
Tiwary joined Amazon India in 2016 and spent four years as vice-president before being elevated to country manager in 20220.
He also headed the firm’s consumer and seller services vertical for four years. Before joining the e-commerce company, he was managing director at Unilever’s Gulf business.
Amazon India faces steep competition from Walmart-owned Flipkart and others including Meesho.
The Indian e-commerce market is valued at $70 billion and is estimated to grow to $325 billion by 2030.
