McDonald’s franchisee to double store count to 600 by 2030
CPRL, part of the $1.2 billion MMG Group, is also expanding McCafe, McDonald's in-restaurant café brand, from 125 outlets currently to 200 by the end of this year
Connaught Plaza Restaurants Pvt. Ltd (CPRL), the master franchisee of McDonald’s restaurants for north and east regions, has announced investment plans of up to $150 million (₹1,280.7 crore) over the next three to four years to double its store count, Press Trust of India reported.
The company plans to add 300 stores by end-2025, up from the current 245, and double that total in three to four years, said Anant Agarwal, vice-chairman of CPRL.
Agarwal said MMG Group and CPRL have strong growth plans for the north and east, calling the region “very under-penetrated.”
CPRL, part of the $1.2 billion MMG Group, also aims to expand McCafe from 125 to 200 outlets by year-end. McCafe is McDonald’s in-restaurant café brand.
MMG acquired CPRL in 2020 after a dispute between the Chicago-based quick service restaurant and its former Indian partner.
The group is upgrading stores to the Experience of the Future (EOTF) format and plans smaller-format outlets for tier III and smaller towns.
New stores have opened in Gangtok, Siliguri, and Guwahati, with Agarwal noting strong demand in these smaller markets.
