Novopor acquires Pittsburgh-based Pressure Chemical Company
This development marks a strategic milestone in Novopor's journey, a company which manufactures chemicals and high-performance cooling fluids, coatings used in semiconductor fabrications.
Bain Capital-backed contract chemical and materials manufacturer Novopor Advanced Science has acquired Pressure Chemical Company (PCC), a Pittsburgh-based firm known for its niche manufacturing expertise. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
PCC, a Minafin Group affiliate, brings over 60 years of experience in specialty chemicals and complex chemistries, improving Novopor’s rapidly growing global platform.
This acquisition is a strategic milestone for Novopor, which develops chemicals and high-performance cooling fluids, along with coatings used in semiconductor fabrication, printed circuit boards, and electronic components.
With PCC’s addition, Novopor—functioning as a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO)—will expand its ability to serve customers worldwide. The combined platform is expected to accelerate investments in infrastructure, technological innovation, and cross-border service capabilities, allowing for faster, more efficient delivery of high-value specialty chemicals.
“This is a key step in building a differentiated, high-impact platform in the specialty chemicals space,” said Radhesh Welling, CEO of Novopor Advanced Science. “Pressure Chemical’s technical excellence, skilled team, and customer relationships align perfectly with our vision. We’re deepening capabilities in complex chemistries and offering seamless scale-up solutions for our global partners.”
Sandra Cernick, president of Pressure Chemical, said, “Joining Novopor enables us to invest further in people, technology, and infrastructure while broadening our reach across the development-to-commercialization spectrum. We’re excited to be part of a platform that values technical rigor and customer-centricity.”
