Suresh Muthuswami, the chairman of Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) North America, has resigned after a 26-year stint with the firm.
Muthuswami, who helmed the IT services firm’s operations in the US and Canada since 22 March, quit earlier this month, Mint first reported, citing executives aware of the development.
“We can confirm that Suresh Muthuswami has decided to leave TCS after a 26-year career in the company,” a spokesperson for TCS said in response to a query on the exit.
The reason for the exit was not disclosed.
Shares of TCS were up 1.1% on BSE to ₹4,514 at 12.30pm IST on Monday, while the broader 30-stock Sensex benchmark was up 0.77%.
TCS North America president Amit Bajaj, who took over the role in August 2020, is likely to oversee the business in the region, the Mint report said.
The region—primarily US and Canada—contributes more than half the annual revenues at the IT services firm.
In the year to March 2024, business from the region accounted for 51.1% of the $29.1 billion revenue the company generated.
