Green Aero, a deep-tech firm developing green hydrogen-based technologies to decarbonize aviation and shipping sectors, has raised $240,000 in a funding round led by Rebalance angel community and a clutch of investors.
The startup, which had earlier won a grant from Boeing Co. that helped them kick-start their testing campaign, plans to use the funds to expand their team, testing facilities, and prototype, the company said in a statement.
“Our efforts will ensure that we can develop key aero-engine/propulsion capabilities that are critical to the defense ecosystem. This initial capital will help us to take off towards this future,” GreenAero founder Prithwish Kundu said.
“Clean transportation and energy is the inevitable future. While electrification is already taking place on land, there is a massive opportunity to back founders who are solving for segments that are harder to decarbonize. Green hydrogen can play a key role in low-carbon and self-reliant economic pathways. We’re thrilled to back Prithwish and his stellar team on this incredible mission,” Rebalance co-founders Aishwarya Malhi and Vikas Kumar said.
