Government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) gave away $250,000 in Antler India equity funding and $100,000 Google Cloud credits to winners of its Build for Bharat initiative this week.

The initiative, which began in New Delhi in December, rewarded teams that came up with innovative solutions to complex business problems in e-commerce, The Economic Times reported.

Organized in more than 50 cities, it saw about 27,000 odd participants, including startups, companies, and education institutions.

“Consumer products, and the mobility sector are dominated by two or three large players. Platform-centric models will maximize their own profits, ONDC will change this,” ONDC chief executive Thampy Koshy told ET.
