Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin over the phone and “shared insights from his recent visit to Ukraine,” the ministry of external affairs said in a statement.
The meeting came hours after the Prime Minister spoke with US President Joe Biden.
The Kremlin has not yet issued an official statement, sharing details of the phone call between the two leaders.

During the call, Modi underlined the importance of dialogue and diplomacy as well as “sincere and practical engagement” between all stakeholders “to achieve an abiding and peaceful resolution” of the conflict, the statement said.
Late Monday, Modi briefed Biden on his visit to Ukraine while also discussing the situation in Bangladesh.
Modi had reiterated India’s consistent position in favor of dialogue and diplomacy and also expressed full support for an early return of peace and stability.
