Preeti Lobana is Google India’s new head
Preeti Lobana will work closely with Roma Datta Chobey, managing director for Google India’s digital native industries, who previously served as interim country manager
Google India has named Preeti Lobana as its new country manager and vice-president, succeeding Sanjay Gupta who was elevated to president of Google Asia-Pacific.
Lobana has 30 years of experience, nine of which have been at Google.
She will focus on “driving strategy” to bring artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to customers.
“I am filled with gratitude and excitement to start my next chapter in a new capacity as country manager and vice president for Google India,” Lobana wrote in a LinkedIn post on Monday.
“Having witnessed firsthand how the internet has transformed businesses, and having collaborated closely with product teams to deliver exceptional value to our customers, I’m energized by this incredible opportunity,” she said.
“India’s dynamic spirit and Google’s cutting-edge technology create a powerful synergy. This is a once-in-a-lifetime moment to shape the future with AI, unlocking unprecedented opportunities for businesses to boost productivity, solve critical challenges, and create innovative solutions,” she added.
Lobana began her Google journey in 2016 as director of customer experience for Asia-Pacific.
In her last stint at Google, she was vice-president for gTech, managing operations for processes, partners, publishers, ads content, and quality.
Before Google, Lobana held positions at NatWest Group, American Express, Standard Chartered Bank, and ANZ Grindlays Bank.
