Vikram Sahu may take over as Bank of America’s India head
Current head Kaku Nakhate is expected to stay with the bank to focus on senior client relationships in the Indian market

Bank of America Corp. is poised to name Vikram Sahu as its new country executive for India, according to an internal memo viewed by Bloomberg.
Sahu, who is currently the head of global equity research in New York, will succeed Kaku Nakhate, who has been leading the bank’s India operations for 15 years.
Sahu is expected to relocate to India in the second quarter to take charge of the bank’s India operations.
However, his appointment as chief executive officer of Bank of America NA’s India-regulated entity (BANA India) will be subjected to approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
Nakhate will continue in her role as CEO of BANA India till then.
Additionally, Nakhate is expected to stay with the bank to focus on senior client relationships in the Indian market. She has held the position of India country head since mid-2010.
Sahu, who has been leading equity research in New York since 2022, previously worked with the bank in Hong Kong.
The development comes as Bank of America moves forward following an internal investigation into allegations related to stock offerings. Three bankers left the firm’s India operations last year amid the inquiry.
