This week, dive into stories of collective resilience against the climate crisis with a new documentary series, jump back into action with the third installment of Mirzapur, follow the love story of a museum guide living with autism, find out more about the life and crimes of a notorious serial killer, and step back into the mid-2000s with a Legally Blond-esque style transformation of a bartender-turned-astronaut.

Here’s a rundown for this week:

Mirzapur Season 3 (Hindi)

After a long hiatus, we join the Mirzapur gang again as the highly anticipated season picks up right where the last one left off.

Guddu Pandit now sits on the Mirzapur throne along with Golu, following Munna’s death. As Kaleen Bhaiya reels from his son’s death, he plots to make a play for the throne, and to avenge Munna’s death. Other players emerge and take sides for an inevitable war. The show features stellar performances from the lead actors and makes for the perfect weekend binge.

He Went That Way (English)

This crime-drama marks director Jeffrey Darling’s debut, and packs a punch with a story inspired by true events, filled with twists and turns.

Based on Conrad Hilberry’s gripping book ‘Luke Karamazov’, which draws upon the real-life story of serial killer Larry Lee Ranes, the film follows the character Bobby Falls. Bobby has a sinister air about him, and unaware of the darkness that he harbors, animal trainer Jim Goodwin offers him a lift.

Accompanied by a chimpanzee, Jim soon finds himself stuck with a serial killer.

Starring: Jacob Elordi, Zachary Quinto, Patrick J. Adams

Space Cadet (English)

This comedy ‘chick flick’, written and directed by Liz Garcia, follows many common Hollywood tropes and is all the more fun because of them. Rex is a crop-top wearing bartender whose unique abilities, much like Jamal in Slumdog Millionaire, somehow make her the perfect candidate for a job as an astronaut. Yes, you heard that right.

Back in high school, Rex was a science whiz-kid, and had hoped to join NASA. But when her mother passed away, she had to let go of that distant dream.

As Rex opens all the right doors, proving her street smarts and ‘moxie’, her journey takes a hilarious route and makes for an entertaining watch.

Starring: Emma Roberts, Tom Hopper, Poppy Liu

Faces of Climate Resilience (Hindi)

This documentary series traces the stories of local heroes, who are taking up the challenge to do something about the climate crisis that their communities face. From stories about the Kerela floods and Odisha cyclones, to the droughts of Rajasthan and forest fires of Uttarakhand, these stories highlight the role played by a community of people once they decide to do something in the face of adversity.

By embracing solutions that have been passed on for generations and developing an understanding of the evolving nature of climate, these heroes will surely inspire you to take another look at the importance of collective action.
