Technology is shaping economies more profoundly than ever before, industry lobby Nasscom president Rajesh Nambiar said on Thursday, while outlining India’s strength as a global talent hub which positions it as a preferred partner in the global ecosystem.

Nambiar was speaking at the Nasscom’s Global Confluence 2025 event in New Delhi.

“In today’s interconnected world, no country or company can innovate alone. Strong alliances, shared expertise, and a commitment to trusted technology partnerships will be the foundation of the next era of global tech leadership,” Nambiar said.

“The world is in a bit of an inflection point than ever before. Some of the technologies are actually playing a lot more influence on the economic models that we are seeing in the country,” he said, while noting that the world is experiencing a global technological shift that has created a rising demand for a high-quality talent base to meet the challenges and opportunities of this new landscape.

“A country like India continues to be a partner of choice for the global technological ecosystem,” he added.

Nasscom this week announced the launch of global country councils, which will encourage collaboration with global players by tapping technology leaders, policymakers, and key stakeholders around the world.

These councils serve as high-impact platforms designed to engage global technology leaders, policymakers, and key stakeholders in specific geographies.

The councils will also play a crucial role in advocating for policies that support innovation and enhancing collaboration in skill development and workforce mobility, positioning the Indian tech ecosystem as a leader in global digital transformation.

Positioned as a premier forum in India, Nasscom Global Confluence’s theme this year was “Forging Global Alliances for Tech Leadership.”

Trade minister Piyush Goyal shared insights on driving service exports growth, and felicitated the winners of the SME Inspire Awards, which were announced on the sidelines of the forum.

Nasscom represents more than 3,500 member companies, from deep tech and AI startups to multinationals, from products to services, from global capability centers to engineering firms.
