Microsoft buys 16.4 acres in Pune’s Hinjewadi for $61.2 million

US tech giant Microsoft Corp.’s India subsidiary has bought a 16.4-acre plot in Pune’s Hinjewadi from Indo Global Infotech City for ₹520 crore ($61.2 million).
The deal was finalized on 20 August after paying a stamp duty of ₹31.18 crore ($370,000) and a registration fee of ₹30,000, citing data from data analytics-backed real estate and mortgage portal Square Yard.
The land parcel is situated at Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjewadi, Pune. The park, which covers 2,800 acres, houses more than 800 IT firms, including Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini India, Infosys Ltd, Cognizant Technology Solutions, and Mindtree Ltd. The transaction was officially registered on 6 September.
The owners of the land parcel, Indo Global Infotech City, were a partnership firm led by Reena Sanjib Aurora, Radhika Manoj Hingorani, Sanjiv Chamanlal Aurora, Manoj Nawalraj Hingorani and Harish Manoj Hingorani as per the information available on Zauba Corp, a business information platform.
This is Microsoft India’s second major real estate purchase in Pune.
In 2022, it bought a 25-acre plot in Pimpri Chinchwad, a Pune suburb, for ₹328 core from Finolex Industries to construct a data center.
Meanwhile, Microsoft had bought 48 acres of land in Hyderabad in May this year for ₹267 crore.The firm bought a 25-acre site in Pimpri-Chinchwad for ₹328 crore in 2022 and acquired 48 acres in Hyderabad earlier this year for ₹267 crore, Square Yard said in a social post.
