US President Donald Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Pope Leo XIV, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, actor Ranbir Kapoor, chef Vikas Khanna, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and YouTube CEO Neal Mohan are among the figures named to TIME magazine’s 2026 list of the world’s 100 most influential people, as the publication cast this year’s selection across politics, technology, culture and business.

TIME’s annual TIME100 list, released on 15 April, is a curated roster of people the magazine says are shaping the year.

This year’s edition is led visually by four worldwide covers featuring actor Zoe Saldaña, comedian Nikki Glaser, actor Wagner Moura and singer-songwriter Luke Combs.

For India, the most visible names are Kapoor and Khanna, while India-linked technology leaders Pichai and Mohan also make the list, underscoring the spread of influence from entertainment and food to Silicon Valley’s command layer.

Kapoor is listed among the entertainers on this year’s roster, while Khanna appears in the Innovators section.

The broader list spans heads of government, executives, artists and athletes.

TIME’s list includes Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Anthropic’s Dario and Daniela Amodei, and SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell, along with entertainers such as Dakota Johnson, Kate Hudson and Jennie.

In a note accompanying the release, TIME Editor in Chief Sam Jacobs said, “There is no single metric that defines influence,” adding that the selections are shaped by the stories defining the year and by people whose impact may extend well beyond their immediate fields.

TIME CEO Jessica Sibley said the list recognizes “leaders, innovators, and changemakers who are redefining the future.”

TIME said the 2026 list reflects the areas it sees as shaping the future, including artificial intelligence, climate, health, philanthropy and the growing role of digital creators.

The list also stretches across generations, with figure skater Alysa Liu, 20, the youngest honoree and labor activist Dolores Huerta, 96, the oldest.

The magazine will convene honorees in New York for the TIME100 Summit on 22 April and the TIME100 Gala on 23 April.

The gala will be hosted by Glaser, with performances by Luke Combs and Coco Jones, and TIME said the red carpet will be livestreamed for the first time.
