Mahindra Aerostructures inks $100 mn deal to supply parts to Airbus Atlantic

This is in addition to Mahindra's existing contracts to deliver parts directly to Airbus at their facilities in France and Germany

Mahindra Aerostructures Pvt Ltd (MASPL) on Monday announced that it has signed a  $100 million multi-year contract with Airbus Atlantic to manufacture and deliver metallic components and small assemblies for the entire fleet of Airbus commercial aircraft, including its best-selling A320.

Under the contract, MASPL will supply Airbus Atlantic with nearly 2,300 varieties of metallic components in France from its manufacturing base in India. This is in addition to MASPL’s existing contracts to deliver parts directly to Airbus at their facilities in France and Germany.

“This new contract from Airbus Atlantic opens a new frontier in our existing relationship with the Airbus Group, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to offer value across the realm of industrial maturity, digitalization, performance, and sustainability,” Vinod Sahay, the president of aerospace and defense at Mahindra Group, said.

MASPL is a drop-down subsidiary of Mahindra and Mahindra Group with interests in aerospace manufacturing. It operates a 250,000 sq ft plant near Bangalore, which is equipped with comprehensive capabilities for sheet metal and machined parts, welding, finishing, and assembly.

Airbus Atlantic is a wholly owned subsidiary of aircraft producer Airbus with over 13,500 employees and a presence in five countries on three continents, with an estimated turnover of €5.2 billion or $5.57 billion in 2024.

Airbus Atlantic designs and manufactures forward fuselage sections that house critical components of the cockpit for the Airbus fleet, specific fuselage sections and sub-assemblies for Airbus, fully equipped wings for the ATR 42/72, fully equipped center fuselage for the Bombardier Global 7500, aerostructure sub-assemblies for the center fuselage of the Dassault Aviation Falcon 10X and complex aerostructure parts in metal and composite for various aircraft manufacturers.
