Cognizant hires Jatin Dalal for top finance role

US-based IT services firm Cognizant Technology Solutions on Thursday named former Wipro chief financial officer (CFO) Jatin Dalal as its CFO. Dalal recently resigned from the Indian IT firm.

Dalal will report to chief executive officer Ravi Kumar S, who was hired from Infosys Ltd in January.

Dalal will take over as CFO in December from Jan Siegmund, who will retire in early 2024, the company said, adding that Siegmund will stay on as non-executive officer and special advisor to support an orderly transition.

Cognizant said Dalal will handle financial planning and analysis, accounting and controllership, tax, treasury and internal audit, corporate development, investor relations and enterprise risk management functions.

Before joining Cognizant, Dalal spent two decades at Wipro, where he served as CFO since April 2015 and took on additional duties as president beginning in December 2019.

From 2011 to 2015, Dalal was the CFO of Wipro’s global IT business in Bengaluru. He has also served as Wipro’s UK head of finance for the Europe region and global finance head at Wipro’s energy, utilities, health care, and manufacturing business units.
