Indian businesses topped the list of new non-Emirati company registrations in Dubai from January to June, a Dubai Chamber of Commerce (DCC) statement said.

There were 7,860 new Indian business registrations during the period, almost twice that of new Pakistani company registrations at 3,968, DCC said.

Pakistan was followed by Egyptian companies at 2,355, and Syria with 1,358 new additions to the chamber’s membership. The UK came fifth with 1,245 new companies and Bangladesh next with 1,119 new company registrations.

The findings highlight Dubai’s strong ability to attract direct investments from India and underline the emirate’s growing appeal among international businesses, the DCC statement said.

In terms of sectoral distribution of the new businesses, the trade and repairing services sector ranked first, accounting for 41.5% of the total.

The real estate, renting, and business services sector came next, representing 33.6% of the total, followed by construction with a 9.4% share, and transport, storage, and communications, which ranked fourth with a 8.4% share.

Construction showed the strongest growth among the top five sectors of new companies joining DCC, registering a growth of 23.5% when compared with the same period in 2023, DCC said.

The transport, storage, and communications sector came next with a growth of 13.6%, followed by real estate, renting, and business services at third with a 9.5% increase in year-on-year growth.
