The Adani group is looking to set up a policy think thank along the lines of the Reliance Industries Ltd-backed Observer Research Foundation (ORF), The Economic Times (ET) reported.

The upcoming institution, dubbed Chintan Research Foundation, will focus on research in energy transition and climate change; economics and trade; and geopolitics and strategic affairs, the ET report said, citing people aware of the issue.

The think tank, set to be based in New Delhi with branches in Washington and London, could kick off operations as soon as next month, the report added.

The ORF, which was set up in 1990, organizes the annual Raisina Dialogue, India’s leading summit on geopolitics and geoeconomics, in association with the ministry of external affairs.

The move to establish a think tank comes after the Adani group last month opened Energy Revolution, the Adani Green Energy Gallery at the Science Museum in the United Kingdom.

The gallery showcases, among other technologies, an electric taxi powered by a lead-acid battery and built in 1897 by Great Horseless Carriage Co.
